Community Governance Review

Overview

We’re seeking residents’ views on proposals to create town councils in the unparished areas of Windsor and Maidenhead.

Your views will be used to develop draft recommendations, which will be considered by Council ahead of deciding whether to create one or both town councils in 2027. Subject to the outcome of the consultation and any subsequent decisions, the first elections would take place in May 2028.

The unparished parts of Windsor comprise twelve polling districts spanning the wards of Clewer East, Clewer & Dedworth East, Clewer & Dedworth West (part), Eton & Castle (part), Old Windsor (part).  

The unparished parts of Maidenhead comprise seventeen polling districts include the wards Belmont, Boyn Hill, Furze Platt, Oldfield (part), Pinkney’s Green, Riverside, and St Mary’s. 

This consultation forms part of our community governance review. Pursuant to the provisions of the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007, a community governance review is the process used to consider whether existing parish arrangements under the jurisdiction of the local authority should be changed in any way.
